The trainer of more than a thousand professional wrestlers, managers and referees, Mike Quackenbush has distinguished himself as the most prolific coach working today. The world-renowned “Master of a Thousand Holds” has been performing inside the squared circle since 1994, and continues to headline cards internationally to this day.
In the 2000’s, he reached new audiences through his published work in magazines like Pro Wrestling Illustrated and The Wrestler. Since the 2010’s his proteges have ascended to the top levels of the industry, several becoming major superstars. The deep influence of his creative work, both writing and producing 21 seasons of CHIKARA, is still evident at the independent, international, and even corporate levels of wrestling. His ten books have allowed him to reach a worldwide readership, thanks to translation into multiple languages. In the 2020’s, his Til We Make It series of YouTube tutorials introduced him to an entirely new generation of budding performers.
The creator of National Pro Wrestling Day, Mike has flown this holiday’s flag each February when raising funds and awareness for worthy causes like The Polaris Project and Against Malaria Foundation. In 2015, Mike’s NPWD fundraising efforts for the Seva Foundation paid for 30 vision-restoring surgeries in Africa. In 2021, he collected donations for The Trevor Project, a suicide prevention hotline. His 2025 fundraiser supported the vital work of the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center.
Mike spent decades as the host of several popular podcasts, both in the world of wrestling, and out. His decade-long tenure on The Grizzly Bear Egg Cafe netted over a million downloads. Mike hosted the news-centric podcast The Trending Show as well as a parenting podcast titled Daddy On Board. His most recent podcast, Kayfabe 2.0, ran for three seasons.
In 2019, Mike launched Til We Make It on YouTube, with an online community hosted by Patreon. The channel is currently home to over 800 tutorial videos covering every aspect of professional wrestling. New episodes are published every Friday.
